Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, (06/2019 – PRESENT)

Assistant Teacher of Visual Arts, New York, NY

  • Teach art lessons to the elderly via Zoom
  • Create art based curriculum, lessons, and projects for children ages 5 – 12
  • Teacher art lessons to children ages of  5 – 12 via Zoom
  • Supervise children ages 5 – 8 in a variety of group arts and educational activities
  • Manage classrooms and behavior of students
  • Create and implement fun and engaging games and activities for students to participant in
  • Track student attendance
  • Mediate and resolve student conflicts

  • Collaborated with the organization Artworks for Freedom on The Golden Doors to Freedom art  project, which turns abandoned doors into pieces of art that focus on human trafficking
  • Led class discussions on human trafficking
  • Helped students brainstorm ideas for The Golden Doors to Freedom art project
  • Helped students sketch and design ideas for the art project
  • Guided students as they wrote, stenciled, drew, scratched, burnished, and embellished the doors with their own thoughts about human trafficking

  • Taught at Level 5 high school for students with emotional & behavior disabilities 
  • Led students in discussions about tolerance 
  • Taught students vocabulary through the lens of cultural understanding and tolerance
  • Taught students about a variety of art materials and how to properly use them
  • Introduced students to a variety of art media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculptures, ceramics, and crafts
  • Assisted students in conducting research on cultures of people around the globe
  • Assisted students in creating artwork motivated and inspired by art from around the globe
  • Guided students in planning, designing, and creating a mural that represents a summation of students feelings towards tolerance and understanding of people who represent different groups

  • Develop an overall concept or theme for NMA murals and exhibitions and work alongside artists and designers to bring their ideas to life
  • Investigate and recruit various organizations and artists nationally and internationally to work with NMA members and youth participants
  • Serve as an NMA liaison and Nima community tour guide for local and international artists and organizations
  • Facilitate weekly meetings for NMA members
  • Prepare and develop lesson plans, activities, and special projects that fuse the arts
  • Lead and assist art workshops and trainings on drawing and painting
  • Work with NMA participants to develop their artistic abilities and leadership potential
  • Engage NMA youth participants in the following areas through the arts: critical thinking, evaluation, risk-taking, hands-on, project-based learning; documentation of work, community-building, and activism
  • Coordinate subject related trips, guest speakers, special events, projects, and student exhibitions
  • Develop budgets for special events and projects
  • Serve as positive, engaging and interactive role model for NMA youth participants
